WRP - Milan
Art and creativity to fight the pollution caused by single-use plastics.

'We are Plastic' was
included in the official program of Parma 2020 + 21 Capital of Culture, wanted and supported by Quadrilegio Association, was originally scheduled for the end of March 2020, but moved to May 2021 because of the Pandemic outbreak. Workshops with the schools of Parma IC Parma Centro and Liceo Artistico P. Toschi were planned and designed to educate children in the recycling of plastic bottles through the artist's own 'dotting' technique, which would have ended with a large installation.
'We are Plastic' project was then selected for the final stage of the prestigious RO Plastic Prize organised by Galleria Rossana Orlandi, point of reference in the panorama of contemporary art and design.

For the occasion, the artist created the shape of the Milan Cathedral with small plastic bottles, making it a symbol of "rebirth" leading to the creation of the large installation for Parma Capital of Culture 2020 + 21, thanks to the support of Quadrilegio Association.

Inspired by the "obliteration" process used by the famous Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, through the repetitive action of dotting, Elisa's representative technique, the object is decontextualized to give it a new identity: no longer a banal empty container to be recycled, but a rich element of content necessary to build the work.
