Elisa Canterelli’s work, which I saw at Wimbledon Open Studios in 2012 combines painting photography and sculpture in a unique way. What are, at first glance, paintings, are in fact photographic prints covered in 3 dimensional dots. She wants the viewer to feel an impulsive desire to touch the work, saying, ‘when you feast your eyes on hundreds of multi-coloured dots upon an intriguing image you can’t help but feel an overwhelming desire to touch and feel it.’
